Iv been going here for more than 10yrs now. I went in yesterday for my seasonal flat top. I made it clear when I came in that was the cut I wanted. I didn’t see any faces I recognized. The young man who was to be my barber was polite and courteous. I asked where the instructor was that had been supervising my hair cuts for years and was told he had quit. This got my attention. He had been a military barber who understood what I meant by wanting a high and tight. A young lady came in an showed him a picture on her phone of what a flattop was.
This was a bit disconcerting. But after 6 months of letting my hair grow out an having to cut my bangs out of my eyes myself the week before just wanted my hair cut.I straight out asked him if he knew how to cut a flattop. He told me no. So I explained what guards to use on his clippers and to just give me a buzz fade leaving my hair long in the back. A cut I could and have done to myself at home.
Iv been letting students cut my hair since I was a teen. Not once did a instructor or supervisor come check on us. I don’t think that there was one present at all. All the people there gave me the impression they were all students.
Not informing me when I came in that there was no one there who knew how to cut a flattop after waiting around a half hour was aggravating. Being under a time constraint I took what I could get.
For sure and certain this will be my last time going here. There’s other beauty and Barber schools in Pueblo. My advice is to try one of them instead.
I used to love this place but the last few times I’ve gone have been a disaster. This most recent trip was the worst. The student who cut my hair either needs to step it up or quit. He barely talked to me. While washing my hair he kept splashing my face. While cutting he left hair in my eyes the entire time. He cut the same spot for 20 minutes. Literally grabbed the same handful of hair over and over and cut about a mm off each time until my scalp hurt. I was getting annoyed and said “sorry to be that person but you have been cutting the same hair for 20 minutes”. To which another student (Ian) called me rude and said “what do you expect. You came to a school.”After an hour and a half of cutting and them not listening I was tired and just said it looked good so I could leave.

I showed three students and an instructor a picture of what I wanted but it’s not even close. I included a picture because it is so unbelievably bad.

This was my second attempt to get my hair cut short by them. Now I have to go pay full price at a real salon to fix their mistake.

There must have been a change in owners or something. The good instructors don’t work there any more and the ones they have hang out in the back the whole time instead of teaching or supervising or something. The students are incredibly unprofessional. They put on vulgar music and talked about inappropriate topics.

The only positive is the price. I wouldn’t trust them to do a buzz cut anymore.
