I have had three children attend CTA Independence and was impressed with the curriculum and staff. As part of the curriculum, the school focuses on Stephen Covey’s 7 habits… which is a great set of “soft skills” to emphasize. Their math curriculum is about 1 year ahead of most programs. On the language side, they are strong with phonetics, sounding out syllables etc… which i think is great. Very few discipline problems at the school. They take bullying seriously and do their best to teach the children that bullying is NOT appropriate. All of my kids were well prepared for Jr high after attending CTA. Many thanks to the great faculty and staff of CTA.
This is an absolute stellar school for being public! I can’t understand why all parents would not want this level of education for their kids. The teachers are amazing and so is the support staff and principle. They are fair but firm on running an organized, tight ship! They do not give too much homework. If you are a parent that is scared by that, get a reality check for the real world your kid will be entering into after high school and college! I LOVE uniforms and the school policies! This is a great school.
Mrs. Ortiz for 4th grade is one of the best teachers around. So happy that my kiddo was assigned to her class. Mrs. Ortiz is engaging, creative, and pushes her kids to achieve their very best. My kid has been at CTA-Independence since kinder and I couldnt be happier with her progress. Thank you, CTA!
