Class of 2017, I ended up quitting school due to personal issues. I did get my HiSET. For the most part great school, great teachers. The teachers I had were awesome and I’ll never forget them, they made a tough time of my life a bit easier. I never got to get involved in the CTE that CCHS offers because of district problems so I recommend the city of Chicopee and the School Department to configure things in such a way that there’s very little limitations for a CHS student to take CTE classes that they wouldn’t have at CHS similar to how other cities schools have access to the tech schools for example West Side. I probably would’ve graduated if I had the option to take my Academic Classes at CHS and take my choice CTE Class in Comp. May sound counter intuitive and all but some students at CHS may want to do carpentry or automotive and not have access at CHS or live in Comp district. If anything there should be more investing in the trades since those are growing career fields lacking the qualified people. Other than that the education system should be reinvented because there’s a lot of room for improvement, much more could be taught but it’s not the teachers’ fault. The teachers are great but they have their limits on what they can and are allowed to teach in such short scheduled times.
