I always had a bad perception about this school because of the comments of people in the old times… Now as a parent of it and being involved as a volunteer has opened my eyes widely. The school is above level compared to many other HS around, and starting with Ms. Peralta the Principal I can say she truly puts the students first with what she has on her hands. We lack of money but is distributed fairly between all the needs the school has. I cannot give a 5.5 stars to Chula Vista High, but truly deserve it! They make miracles with their few resources!
As a graduate, I can say that Chula High was an amazing experience overall. From student activities, to academics. Staff (not only teachers) obviously care for the well-being of their students and the school as a whole. Highly spirited, and very welcoming to different students as discrimination based on race, sex, gender, etc was not a prominent issue my 4 years there. I’d love it for my younger siblings to attend Chula as well.
This school is very disrespectful in my opinion. If your sick, they want you there. They don’t care about your health, which is why when your not feeling good they send you home. They only care about abscences, and giving consequences. Why, because they don’t care about the students, what they’re going through. I’ve made a mistake going. Apparently im supposed to go if I have bladder problems, uncontrollable vomit, and stomach flu.
