I went to Churchill years ago in the early 2000s and it was the worst school I had ever been to. Some of my teachers and some staff were great and I had great friends, but the vice principal we had my freshmen and sophomore year, my teacher Tom horn, and the student Counselors were horrible! I was always being accused of stuff I never did. Once they decided to label me a bad kid they made my life hell. I was bullied more by staff members than I was by other students. One of the boys at school tried to rape me and I got called a liar even though he admitted it to the police and the principal that he did. My parents finally got tried of it and pulled me out of the school and let me home school til we moved. I never had any issues at my new high school. I hope things have changed for the better and students enjoy going there its a beautiful school.
I moved to North Eugene HS halfway through tenth grade. It’s amazing how the staff can impact quality of learning. I had mediocre grades up until then. After that I earned STRAIGHT A’s and B’s through the end of the eleventh grade and held my head above c-‘s through the end. I’d like to thank Miho Hosaka for a big part of it. She was transfered to NEHS from Churchill and she has at least four different subjects she has taught. I absolutely hope that parents and teachers who read this pay more attention to their children, credits, and grades.
I give it one star because I was blamed for smoking weed because the kids behide me smoked before they went to class. One of the staff came to me and told me to come with him. He asked me “did I smoked”and I said “No” then he said “If your lieing to me the officer is going to do a search” then he said “This is your get out of jail free card if you dont lie” and I dont rember exactly what I said I know I said I think it was the kids behide me. Now i hate going to that school because I dont want that to happen again.
