My son, Ian, has been taking guitar lessons with Joel Greenberg for about 9 months now and I can’t say enough about how invaluable it has been! I only wish we would have started with Joel sooner!

After his junior year in high school, my son found his passion and decided he wanted to go to college for jazz guitar. He had been playing for a few years, but hadn’t had a lot of formal training and knew he had a long way to go to get where he needed for auditions. We signed Ian up with Joel over the summer. Joel was really was instrumental in preparing Ian – having gone through the college experience on guitar himself, he knew exactly the things Ian would need to work on and he pushed him to get there. His lessons were very focused and gave Ian the right tools and skills to get him where he needed to be. Ian had lessons with other instructors in the past, but this was different. Ian had to put the work to get there and it wasn’t easy, but Joel really made all the difference in helping him focus on all the right things.

In February, audition day finally arrived and Ian felt prepared, although nervous. He said he couldn’t have done it without the lessons.

We found out a few weeks later, he got accepted into the program he wanted!! We couldn’t be happier – the results speak for themselves!

Michael Kotur is an outstanding guitar teacher and I highly recommend him to anyone seeking guitar lessons, of any age. He is funny, easy-going, consistent, professional, and personable. He can adapt to any student’s needs and skill level. Both of my children have been taking lessons with “Mr. Michael,” and they (and I) love him. My children have played a variety of instruments, with exposure to different teachers throughout their journeys. Mr. Michael is the best. It is obvious he has spent decades of his life teaching students how to play the guitar.
