I attended this school for my junior and senior year. I had previously attended Cy-lakes high school. It was definitely quite a shocking change in certain aspects, such as the amount of fights, diversity and cultural appreciation . The diversity is not quite as large a Cy-lakes was. Cinco Ranch is constituted mostly of Caucasian students. Though this is the case, there are other small groups of other cultures and races that I believe should be brought to light and appreciated ( this is not a culture conscious school). The violence was almost nonexistent (compared to Cy- lakes) it was nice to feel “safe” in a place where you’re supposed to be focused on learning and not having to be careful how and where you look in fear of getting your ass kicked. However I did notice that the amount of drugs being abused by these young “adults” was shocking! And I’m not talking about marijuana! I mean bars, cocaine, acid, molly and yes I even encountered a few other “young adults” whom claimed to know or be close to others that were involved or had tried heroin. Though this may not be entirely a school issue it is something that like I said was quite shocking.. as I transitioned towards my senior year I also encountered other problems and concerns. the fact that most of these students were very cocky, inconsiderate and Ill mannered. The simple words ” excuse me , please or thank you” were as non existent as the violence! Also my mother recently has gotten yelled at by one of the students in the parking lot while she was simply waiting to pick up my younger sister. I was shocked by how rude and aggressive the student was being never really trying to communicate calmly and quietly. Why don’t these parents teach their “young adults” to respect their elders?! Anyway, as I mentioned before, I witnessed many of these students be ill mannered so I wasn’t as shocked as my mother was. Also another very unsettling problem they had was what would be considered under aged Pornography!!!! The school was plagued by videos and pictures of fellow students having intercourse!!! These became viral in our school!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?! The ” oh so perfect and clean Cinco Ranch High School”….. yeah right! This lasted both years I was there. But hey!! Overall most of the teachers are great and helpful and I guess that’s all that matters.. lol
I recently finished freshman yr here and I personally love this place aside from some bitchy teachers and a school stalker. the students are so diverse and most of them are very nice even the upper classmen which was a pleasant surprise . I definitely recommend this place . also most of the teachers teaching methods are great too.
Just outstanding a truly elite school for kids u will certainly get a b average minimum I don’t know anyone that will get below a b average there are a lot of nice teachers
