I have been to a few flight schools in my journey to becoming a pilot. I must say Cirrus is my home, I went to cirrus after struggling to find a school that didn’t focus on hours being built. Most other schools the CFI has personal goals to become a commercial pilot and they disregard everything but the hours they get from training you in a plane. Most other schools only block out two hour windows for flights at Scottsdale, this makes it very difficult to get flight time if you are waiting for long periods to Taxi you could eat up a good portion of your flight and you are basically doing a 180 back to the parking ramp.

At cirrus the allotted time is 4 hrs. It seems like a lot but it’s really not. Our day-to-day consisted of roughly one and a half hours of Ground School. We do a preflight and then finish up by flying with a debrief after. This flight school makes it a point to mold and train great pilots, they take the time to train you, and you are not a number in their log book.

I’ve had a chance to meet and talk with just about all the CFIs and each one of them are level headed friendly, good people. Kyle Bowmen is my instructor, he is one of the best visual teachers I have ever met I struggle comprehending what I read, he explains things with visual references, and he’s not a bad artist, our flight time together has allowed me to build confidence and I feel 100% capable flying a Cirrus SR22.

I started my training in a Cessna 172. Although this is a great plane going from one to another is quite the difference. But the transition really wasn’t that crazy. More being spoiled than anything. After flying a few different times in the Cirrus, I decided to join their Cirrus one program and purchased my own aircraft. Kendal, one of the office staff was very helpful with Finding an aircraft, transporting the aircraft, insuring the aircraft, and finding space in the hanger to park my aircraft. Now Cirrus takes care of all of the maintenance and they pull the plan out whenever I need it 100% spotless. Even the back office admin staff, maintenance techs are all very helpful and professional I consider of them friends.

I would say the only downside to this program to somebody who’s just getting into it, is it is more expensive but in this case you 100% pay for what you get. This is a safer option for flying (parachute) and a way more comfortable way to fly (AC) If I had a family member or friend interested in aviation I would recommend this school over anything in the area.

My son wants to learn how to fly and I wouldn’t trust any-other school to teach him. Highly recommended.

Beautiful facility!
