Fantastic public charter high school in San Francisco with a personal approach to learning. Every scholar has their own advisor and support network within the school. Teachers set high expectations for students, truly care about their success, and provide the mentorship they need.

LHS is focused on developing young “leaders whose lives are rooted in love, justice, resilience, emotional and physical well-being.” You’ll feel this from the moment you walk into the school – this isn’t your typical test-orientated charter school.

In addition to the core classes, LHS offers a wide range of AP courses, a mandatory leadership curriculum (as you’d expect), weekly electives, and the “Week Without Walls” program.

These programs are designed to develop the whole person. Leadership priorities four school-wide outcomes, or SWOs:
1 – Communication
2 – Critical Thinking
3 – Personal Responsibility
4 – Social Responsibility

LHS believes these four traits best prepare their scholars for college and beyond. If you agree, this is a great place to send your child, because they do a fantastic job delivering on their mission.

Fun fact – LHS was the first charter school founded in California, back in 1997!

Please for the love of the neighborhood that surrounds your school.

FIX. YOUR. ALARM. SYSTEM!

It goes off EVERY SUNDAY NIGHT when food for the week is delivered. They trigger it EVERYTIME and it wakes the whole neighborhood.

It triggers so often through the week, no one can sleep.
DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT

Very cool. I got a burrito with rotten meat in it but I think that was a 1 time experience.
