My kid’s bus does not follow the routes posted on their website. We live in a smaller neighborhood and my oldest didn’t get to ride her school bus for the entire elementary school years. After six years, I was hoping the bus routes got better, and the posted drop off time is supposedly only after 45 minutes after school dismissal which is fine with me. However, the bus always goes to the different neighborhood first(that one’s supposed to be the last neighborhood according to their website) and our neighborhood is the last. This constant and unofficial change of routes adds 20 minutes to my kids drop off time and is never dependable. If the change was necessary, I’d appreciated some communication about this. Instead, when I called the Transportation department to ask if this will be a permanent change and if they will ever update the routes, so I can schedule my middle schooler’s carpool better, they just give me the runaround. The young lady was apologetic but was no help at all and I left a message for the person in charge twice now with no response. I suppose they just want me to quit and keep me in the ever growing school carline. Their lack of professionalism and communication is just disappointing.
So apparently if a child is in their doorway putting on their shoes with the mom waving her arms to ensure the child doesn’t miss the bus, the driver will see you, and just pull away. There is something very wrong with a school district that doesn’t work for the children and is so rigid about getting outside 5 minutes early.. No matter the circumstances. You have no idea what’s been going on in a child’s life and being so unaccomadating is a horrible way to treat a child and family. The bus can be 30 minutes late for various reasons but cannot accommodate a single child putting their shoes on and waiting an extra 13 seconds for that child. Horrible horrible service. Then when I called to get the bus to turn around to pick him up, they refused. I will be complaining to the board. This does not happen in a good community that serves its children. These people do not care at all about the children.
