Our daughter joined Coconut Grove Montessori School nine years ago, when she was two years old. Its been an amazing journey watching her grow up and develop under this environment that is so nurturing and caring but also challenging. I would describe CGMS as a team of experienced educators that understand education and competent teachers that are deeply committed to the childrens development, all in a safe, friendly environment in which everyone tries their best to help one-another.
During those nine years, we felt as if we were part of a family. Shes always felt motivated and engaged on her school work, thanks in part to the Montessori system that caters to each childs potential, but also to an amazing staff and team of teachers that are truly committed to each childs development.
I love the fact that the Montessori systems mixes kids from different grades and ages in a same classroom. This was instrumental for the development of her leadership skills and self-confidence, as she evolved from being a young novice in the classroom to becoming a mentor for the younger incoming kids. This collective effort resulted in our daughter being accepted by two of Miamis best educational institutions and, we feel, gave her a strong foundation for the new challenges ahead.
Both of my kids have been attending Coconut Grove Montessori School since they were toddlers. There is no place I would rather them be. The classrooms are beautiful & everything is very clean. The Montessori education they have received, and will continue to receive astonishes me. My kindergartener is already doing long division, and reading without issue. Their school environment has created independence in both of them, and they work hard to try to figure things out on their own. Every teacher & the directors truly care about all the children, and it shines through my children’s love for them all. I highly recommend CGMS for any parent looking for a loving and nurturing environment in which their children can learn to their fullest potential.
I currently have all three of my children at CGMS and I can attest to Lower Elementary, Children’s House and Toddler House. The one on one attention my children receive at this school is priceless. The teachers are amazing and genuinely care about my children. It is the most loving environment and my children are learning at such an accelerated pace due to the educational style. All three of my children are very different yet they are all thriving which attests to the schools ability to cater to each individual student and help them succeed. I sincerely can’t say enough good things about the school, educators, students and administrative staff. We absolutely love CGMS and feel fortunate to be part of the CGMS community.
