We are starting our fourth year at Cole Valley and have had a really great experience with the Early Childhood program and the younger elementary grades. The teachers all make a huge effort to really know each child. We had some family trauma last year and my daughter’s teachers worked enthusiastically with the school counselor to help her through her grief and anxiety. They diligently kept me informed on her mood and behavior during class so that I could continue helping her at home. I am confident that will continue with her new teachers this year.
CVCS has also been very gracious during the COVID times to make everyone comfortable. They offer online instruction for kids who have been exposed or are high risk. Some children wear masks, some do not, and no one is shamed for their decision.
I also feel that my girls are as safe as possible at CVCS. They have locked corridors to the grade levels and armed security on campus at all times.
Our daughter has been attending the Preschool half day classes in Mrs Shurtz class, and it is amazing!! Mrs Shurtz definitely loves what she does and our daughter loves going each day. She is learning So much and having fun doing it. There is lots of physical movement to get their energy out and many different ways to learn their letters and numbers and colors and spelling their names and everything else. I highly recommend this school to anyone looking at Preschools. I assume the rest of the teachers are just as fantastic!! I have attended the Kindergarten preview and met the 3 teachers that run that grade and they seem to love what they do, care about the children, and are passionate about helping the kids on each of their individual levels understand what is being taught. And they all love the Lord and it is evident in how they speak and how they teach. Love it!!!
