Way too political of an environment. When I went I had a very high score to get in. That means NOTHING. The day I quit was for such a ridiculous reason. One of the teachers said and I quote you can do your head to toe in any order I always do. Flash forward to clinicals, I was the first person to be placed with two patients that week out of the entire class. This means I had twice the pre work. Stayed up all night and came to kadlec prepared. First I get written up for doing my clinical out of order!! I told my instructor Krystal Lancaster, that I was told by another instructor you dont have to do it in order. She didnt care. I then had to retake my head to toe that day at school and the other instructor said i have no idea why you were written up, you did that perfectly. I let that go. With my next patient I was giving a subcutaneous injection (mind you we only do ONE trial for this in the test). Krystal says this patient has a lot of fat on him so you dont have to do it like the test. Im thinking ok whatever that means. I give him the injection and he was fine. And afterwards I kid you not she says you did that wrong. Im like
. ok you literally just told me I could because he was fat. Flash forward and I am taken to Krystals office where she proceeded to tell me I would need to come in the next day because I dont seem confident to continue on with the class. I am in utter shock because she wanted me to have 4 patients that week when everyone else had ONE!! She KNEW that was an impossible task because even with one patient you are up till 6 am doing the homework. And you arent allowed into clinicals if you look tired. I was balling my eyes out asking what I did so wrong and telling her it was impossible, and she had a very evil sly look on her face of pity. I told the other instructors I was quitting and Mrs. Laura was so nice and said why are you quitting you have very good grades and you are very smart. The problem is one professor ISNT ALLOWED to undermine another one. But Mrs. Laura was so nice to me so I thank her. Anyway, If I was you PLEASE GO TO A DIFFERENT NURSING SCHOOL! I wasted $10,000 on nothing and at any moment one teacher can simply make it impossible for you to pass. This happened awhile back, but I am reviewing now because I still have nightmares and want to get it off my chest in 2023. My friend went to walla-walla and had a great experience. idk I would go there, good luck guys. ??
Didn’t even spell “Licensed Practical Nurse” correctly on my diploma. Thanks a lot, CBC.
Great place to learn, good classes
