There has always been a battle between the contemptuous Woodlands and the “ghetto” city of Conroe. Stereotypes and hate speech circulates between these two juxtaposing cities routinely, addressing Conroe’s poor status and the Woodland’s haughtiness. Conroe High is not exempt from this stereotype, yet I would argue that socially — not academically — Conroe High is superior. Even as a racial minority, Conroe High School is extremely welcoming. Unlike our counterparts, Conroe has a blend of African American, Caucasian, Hispanic, and (though a minority) Asian. As of now, construction has become a major hindrance to mobility, yet with the great assistance of Conroe High’s excellent staff (e.g. Dr. Weatherly), the issue was handled extremely well — an indicator of the superb upper management of Conroe. Teachers are generally very good though my classmates do complain of some. On another note, the city of Conroe has been expanding rapidly, which unfortunately has led to an overcrowded Conroe high, though the student base is generally polite and kind; many friends of different races and religions are prolific. The sports teams are overall great (though American football has experienced significant losses). Unfortunately, the building is archaic and small (though major construction has been planned), which improperly houses the thousands of students attending Conroe high. Also, the cafeteria food is not the greatest (which is not the fault of the lunch-attendants nor the school, both of which are extremely passionate and deserve higher praise). In summary, the staff and students are great, yet the actual building size and quality of education can cause a worse highschool experience.
Addendum: I apologize for the insufficient details, I don’t want an overly lengthy internet review which is doomed to be read by few.
ive been in this school since my freshmen year I’m currently going into junior year. So far I have no problems what so ever! I’m an athletic trainor and I’m very involved in many school activities. The school has fights and it’s issues but so do other high schools, many of the teacher of not all truly do love and appreciate they’re students and only want what’s best for them. I love being a Conroe tiger and hope that junior and senior year are just as pleasing at my freshen and sophomore!!!
