I actually had my child on a list for a different campus, but felt like I caught a break when this new campus opened and we were offered an spot after the school year started. I made the math teacher aware of some challenges my child was experiencing and felt brushed off. I learned of an additional tool they offered and asked about it. I was told my chuld didn’t qualify for the service due to having an A in math in the first quarter (we were there for maybe a little over 2 weeks of the first quarter and they were not exactly doing “real work”, more adjusting to all the new students that came in). The criteria to qualify for the service has seemed to change each time I asked about it, I was made to feel ungrateful for the tutoring offered by the teacher (my child is utilizing the tutoring and still struggling… I already knew there was a struggle but am not taken serious when I bring it up), and told that I have to just wait until testing in January. I have offered to do what I can to obtain test scores from the previous school in spite of signing the necessary forms for them to request and receive any test and scores from the previous school. I had to follow up multiple times without response via email before getting a fruitless meeting with the assistant principal who didn’t have the decency to read my emails when I sent them or even before the meeting. Even though I got zero resolve and my child is still struggling with an F in math for the second quarter, I am glad I was able to experience this so now I know that there are educators at this school that are not concerned with improving the educational status of students and parents that are asking and practically begging for help. It is also apparent by the other reviews here and lack of response by the school that there are real problems with the approach to student issues. So, while I won’t blanket statement the whole school I can say that the 7th grade math teacher John Diggins and the assistant principal Annette Martin are perfectly okay with contributing to a sink or sink environment when my swimming student is already drowning because they will think about having a life jacket available in January. Doesn’t that sound crazy? Unethical even? I hope everyone else has a better experience here, but if your child struggles in an area and you don’t meet the “best of Las Vegas” award mold… you have been warned.

This review was written by Christina Johnson and I encourage any other administrative staff that would like to assist in finding a solution to reach out to me regarding my review.

My child was bullied, racially disrespected and always blamed for the reason these things were happening to him. I tried contacting the school board and They told me “why don’t you just pull him out”?! I felt his curriculum was better at this school but not the teachers or the staff which is the reason I did not take him out at the time. The school held multiple meetings with me and began to disregard my concerns and lying on me.
I was lied on by the staff and a parent stating I hit her when she hit me and I did not press charges AND I was the person who was physically attacked by her poking me in my chest while talking to me and told the school and the police that I struck her in her chest when I never touched her! After providing A video of the adversity to the Henderson PD. The parent declined pressing charges due to the fact of her lying and falsifying a report. HPD gave us the opportunity to move forward and she and I declined. We received a police report documenting the event. Fast forward to today, the parent and the school filed another false claim on me stating I tampered with her car. The event happened in Oct 2022 and a police report was filed May 2023. If there is a Lawyer that can help me please please feel free to reach out??
My child came home and said a student hit him I reported it immediately no one returned my phone call the next morning I insisted on speaking to the principal the staff told me the principal was in a meeting several times as if the meeting was more important than my child getting hit I spoke to the assistant principal she showed lack of sympathy and care for the situation I just don’t understand how you have our kids but when an incident happen you can’t resolve it I was informed that they have 24 hours to call me back and to address the situation my kid will not be finishing the school year here. During the whole time Roxanne was concerned with not interrupting the teacher and his lesoon and the assistant principal was concerned with the principal being in a meeting so my child getting hit did not get resolved.
