Coverdell itself is an overall decent school; however we had an issue with therapists and the teacher at the time my daughter went to school there. The special education teacher at the time (this was in 2011 mind you) was lazy and did nothing! The paras did all the work in the room! They took care of all the kids in the class from feeding them, to taking them to the restroom, to even teaching them!! My daughters teacher was actually caught sleeping on her desk by another parent who came in to pick up his son early! As punishment the principal took away her desk so she couldn’t sleep on it! Haha! The physical therapist there was horrible!! She was old and mean and said my daughter would never walk! My daughter transferred to Boonslick State School in Ofallon in 2012, and guess what?? She walks in a rifton walker about 1000 steps a day! Plus she walks with our assistance every day! Guess she showed that battleaxe!!
The school is really nice looking from the outside. The grounds are well maintained.
