I have read the reviews and some of the complaints. It is true that student scores are below national average. All parents (100%) need to ask the teachers and principals what they are going to do about it, if there will be any change. Don’t rely on a few parents to do everything for you. Don’t rely on the school and teachers to do everything. It is not fair for the students to graduate and not be prepared for the world. All parents need to participate (100%) to show their concern for their own children and for their community. If your child attends this school, you must participate and let the teachers and principal know you care and you expect the children to meet national standards and beyond. Remember, you will also have to participate. This will show you are aware of the crisis these students face in their life. It will show your children, you care about them and their future. It will show the teachers, principal and the community you care. It would be nice to see this change, and not just complaints that will go nowhere. Saying this is a good school and people are nice is definitely not enough. We are concerned about education and not about it being ok to graduate as borderline illiterate. Things can get better but you need to care too.
I went to school here pre school to 5th grade and let me tell y’all I did not like it! I was a sweet quiet individual growing up with a difficult childhood, that being said I never knew what it felt like to have friends at school or even enjoy going to school especially here specifically, I was being bullied here almost everyday I would come home crying at days I never even wanted to go to school the kids I went to school with here made fun of me my hair cut I would get made of by becuase I brought orange juice to school with me got rocks thrown at me it’s crazy becuase I still remember these peoples names and faces, I would get sent to the principles office everyday due to defending myself verbally, my second grade teacher here Grabbed me by my overalls and threw me out of the classroom for no reason the principle at the time did nothing about it, I would advise parents DO NOT send your children here I am now 26 years of age, and still think back at when I went to school here this school is not only uneducated it has the worst education it’s non motivating, and the kids are cruel they do not know how to act here! Also the crossing guard Steve used to yell at me all the time just to be mean and make me cry but I do believe he has passed on now.
Overcrowded, but the ethic Kindness Integrity Determination Support is first and foremost.
