We love being part of the Deschutes River Montessori family! Our daughter has attended since age 3, and we intend to send our younger son as well. The DRMS staff and teachers are so welcoming and truly love being around kids. They are very open to parent involvement and feedback and go out of their way to create a joyful environment for the kiddos to learn and play. The school has managed the covid threat extremely well, keeping the kids healthy and in school. I also recommend the Montessori system as a fantastic way to educate kids. DRMS executes Montessori principles faithfully and effectively.
I left 4 messages and 3 emails over a 3 week period of time inquiring about their enrollment process, cost, summer programs (if any) and never received a response. If this is how they run their school, it scares me to think of how well they communicate with their actual enrolled students and parents. Even if you’re not accepting new students at this time, have the common courtesy to return a phone call or email.
Our daughter studied at DRMS for nearly three years in Jenna Wazny’s class. She (our kiddo) adored her time there and transitioned well to public school afterwards. We don’t have enough nice things to say about Jenna and the learning environment she created. She was always available to talk, and worked constantly to improve herself as an educator. We feel lucky and blessed to have been a part of DRMS!
