I used to like going here but the last few times I’ve been there, the teachers don’t teach the students how to properly cut hair. First time going there, about 5 years ago, the students would call for the teacher. The teacher would explain what to do. The student proceeds to cut the hair but before I get up from the chair, they would call hair check and the instructor would come by and check the haircut. Well, now they don’t do that. The instructor’s barely walk by to see what’s going on. The students are actually looking at YouTube videos to have more knowledge about how to give a proper haircut and I know this because the student’s talked about it while I was sitting in the chair. I’m pretty sure 5 years ago this place was ran better than it is now.
I personally go in with a picture of the type of haircut I want and the students still do their own thing because they have no guidance or proper knowledge of how to do a certain cut. I just feel bad for the students as they’re the ones paying to go to school to learn more and yet the instructor’s aren’t much help here. Get new instructor’s that actually help student’s. I just personally don’t think I’ll ever go here again
This is a large Barber School. easy to a decent cut at a GREAT price, if that’s all you need. I was there as a model. My son is an instructor and was teaching a class on Threading. This is a good vocation and a good school. I think most people do not realize that Designer Barber College not only trains barbers but instructors. This is a good place whatever you are looking for an inexpensive cut, a new career or as an experienced Barber, the opportunity to train others in their profession.
I did not give it a fifth star because of the hours and difficulty with traffic, both which could be my own personal preference.
