I personally attended this school way back when and all three of my siblings have also attended this school. We each had a different combination of teachers throughout our years and we loved every one of them. The current principal is phenomenal and has clearly earned the respect of her fellow staff members as well as the students and parents. The art, music, and physical education teachers have a clear passion for what they do and bring fun and excitement to the students they instruct. The school has a loyal gathering of volunteers who help wherever possible at events and during the day. In general, Columbus City Schools has a bad reputation and many of its schools are struggling academically. This is not one of those schools. Highly recommend parents lottery their children into this school rather than have them attend any other.
My children have attended this school for 3 years. Every year it has been a nightmare. Not only do my children get bullied by children, but they defiantly get bullied by the teachers. They even go as low as humiliating my child in front of an entire class. One day my son had a headache. He went to his teacher and asked to get some water because his head hurt. Let me state that this was during hot days, and the school doesn’t have air conditioning (except the office of course!)…and she denied his saying “Ohhh well I have a headache too..too bad..so sad”..and she then made the kids mock him saying “Too bad so sad”. This is just one of many horrific stories I have to tell. Do not send your children here!!
