This school doesn’t deserve 1 star. My daughter hasn’t been to school since October. School or education haven’t contacted me to issue me with a fine for keeping her off cause they are all incompetent of doing their jobs! Happy to take the extra funding for my daughters EHCPlan but don’t want to find her a school or reply to emails unless I copy off stead into the email. Absolute joke!
Brainwash, no care about students feelings, being in school. I myself have been out of school since may 2022 for an incident, kept in isolation for a month and then trying to dig me in a hole until they could kick me out. Not worth anyones time if your child messes up once he will have everything downhill in there, the head of schools just scare you with prosecution and never do anything as they know they aren’t fully right, if anything ever happens to your child and you will want camera footage/think they have got cameras to prove. Yes they have cameras but no they do not work, the amount of incidents that have happened involving teachers getting hit by a bottle or rubbers and them saying they know who it is to intimidate you for you to say it was me, they have no proof and just let everyone go. Terrible terrible school nobody needs to go here. This has made me first time ever depressed, thinking if I will make it in my future and scared to go to any other school.
If I could give this school minus stars I would, worst school for communication to parents, never able to see a member of staff in person, staff have the worst attitude towards students/children and try to hand out detentions like sweets for the pettiest of reasons. You would be wise to send your child to another school in the area, other schools may not be the best or have all the facilities available that is required but at least there able to communicate with parents and a lot better than this one. < 2 years on since my initial review on here > I thought Dixon’s may have changed the school for the better but the opposite is the fact, gone even worse than before, the staff love to dish out punishment constantly for the pettiest of reasons, the majority of staff seem to treat the students with shear contempt, victimise and intimidate, they like to coerce students into agreeing to false statements of guilt when something happens. The staff will punish students for the pettiest of reasons for example not having the 6″ ruler which they provide but the ft long 12″ version, diminish students self confidence and self expression, give students a punishment for asking a simple question with regards to the work they are doing in a particular lesson. And then send them to a inclusion room to do generic work continuously, literally don’t teach the kids anything. Most if not all of the staff need sacking in my opinion and not be allowed to teach again, especially the new principal, and the rest are also guilty by default/association for not speaking up against the inequalities that certain staff impose on students due to the rules and mentality that dixons academy trust brought. The Dixon’s academy trust seems to have gave them free rain to terrorise students and have a vendetta against certain groups. Recently in my opinion they seem to be wanting to impose punishment on sen children to drive them out the school. They have absolutely no communication skills and are a constant disappointment, and incompetent, my son will be leaving. Do yourself and your child a big favour by not even considering this school for your applications. You will regret it. If your child already attends do your child a big favour by removing them from this school. Also if you see any reviews on here showing the school as a shining example and they are the best thing since sliced bread, I would advise you to ignore them, probably a teacher putting a post up as they also like to sneak into parent groups that parents have set up for other parents of children who attend, or since been taken out of the school.
This is an outstanding school. The transition procedure is excellent! Every child made to feel so special & valued. The staff are approachable & will do whatever it takes to help the children. The environment is safe & clean. The school offers a wide range of opportunities & experiences for the children to get involved in. This really is an excellent school I would highly recommended it to everyone!!
this school is awful, always reading off a script and make the school like a prison or army camp. they have changed all the teachers and have them all on behavior record like children and make them also read off a script. staff arnt aproachable because everything that gets said is always recorded on classcharts but nothing gets done about it. this school is terrible do not send your kids their.
