After spending 7 years in this school, I can say that HSCS has shown success due to the family that it strives to build every year. The relationship between students, teachers, and staff members is a core aspect of the school that has been prominent since I first stepped into the building in 2014. HSCS provides many opportunities to promote healthy relationships through clubs, sports teams, or even through normal conversation. As a result, it has become common for students to talk to staff outside their respective grade or department, making the transition to the next grade smoother. For me, I was able to form the best relationships with the tech team. Coming to school five times a week would not have been easier without the positive attitude of Mr. StVal, the humor and wisdom from Mr. Richards, and the poise of Mr. Mitchell. Even though they has several requests and problems to fix each week, they always put their best foot forward, which is the reason why they have always been so reliable with the technology in the school. There’s also people who put effort into the little things, like Mr.Reyes. Mr. Reyes was one of the most kind and patient people in the school, and was respected by students in all grades. One thing I noticed about him in particular was the effort he made to look his best every day. This was common for all teachers, but I liked that he tried to look his best, even when he wouldn’t be noticed by most students throughout the day.
To day that the students alone is what make HSCS is simply far from the truth. The culture and community cultivated in this school would have never reached this point is it wasn’t for the students, teachers, parents, and staff members (even the security guards). That is what has made us different: a bond that has continuously grown between each other, and will continue to after graduation
Faculty is very unorganized from the Dean all the way down and have both control over the students, this is what I was told by a staff memeber when I called in trying to solve an issue with my child. Run away from this school..you are better off sending your child to a public as there’s isnt any difference hell the public school might even be better to be honest.. teachers done have control of students..classrooms are disruptive and there isnt any discipline..THID IS NOT A CHARTER SCHOOL I REPEAT NOT A CHARTER SCHOOL..DONT BELIEVE THE LIES oh.and by the if your child complains or demands change or speaks up about the issue be ready for your child to be treated differently from that point forward..VERY VERY DISSAPOINTEDIN THIS ORGANIZATION AS A WHOLE.
