Parents & Students Reviews:
Dubai Schools Al Barsha has 68 reviews with an overall rating of 3.8. Some reviews have been edited for clarity.
1. The school fee structure is deceiving. Many items are added on top of the school fees (e.g., book fees, registration fees, exam fees, etc.) as if they are optional, which they are not. This is in contrast to other schools, which are very clear and have a lump sum amount for the total fees in their fee structure.
2. The school uniform is of very low quality and overpriced, more than double the price compared to other schools.
3. Students are not allowed to wear shorts during PE/sports activities. They are still kids, and they cannot wear pants during the hot weather.
4. There was no communication about the guidelines for the first day of school, and no one shared the class details before the first day.
5. The Grade 3 class has 32 students. During registration, they told us that the class would not accept more than 22 students and that they would arrange to add one more class during the month. However, the staff mentioned that no date is confirmed yet. This should have been clearly communicated to parents before the first day.
6. No one was helping or guiding us on our first day; staff were just standing around greeting and talking to each other, leaving parents and children frustrated, especially the newcomers.
7. The school sends emails with many spelling mistakes and unstructured sentences, making us doubtful about the proficiency level within the staff and admin team.
8. Grade 3 students are required to wear Islamic swimsuits, which is not age-appropriate.
9. The vice principal was talking with Grade 5 students about what scores they need to get to enter college.
10. The school has wrong absence records.
11. The portal does not have canteen records.
