Horrible school, if you have a troubled child there will be a lifetime of doubt left with you. They will involve CPS and your life will be destroyed, without having any education in child phsycology ( and by this I mean extensive) I find it ludicrous that after knowing the background of a child that has violent tendencies and has shown this among other children was givin an opportunity via the staff to have the only disciplinary adult taken out of the home and charges filed. I personally have witnessed this child’s behavior and his ability to throw himself down and scream at his biological mother (who just started raising him on her own in December and is only 20) slap her several times, run away from home several times, he had NEVER been exposed to rules values or other children and not one teacher knowing all this information could put 2 and 2 together. It’s not hard to believe that a young child can have tendencies that would afford him the abilities to remove a parent under the presumption they are being abused and under no certain terms are the accused extended any explanation. I have heard that CPS is above the law descised as CHILD ADVOCACIES but never in my worst nightmares would I have thought teachers in the elementary field could ever be so full of judgement calls all their own with the education of all of four years at any college could sum up a child they have known for 4.5 months . I would have rather seen a family meeting than the destruction through biast amateurs in this field. So if you have a stepchild with problems I would deffently think twice. I don’t know that I would send my child anywhere around here with out doing a search for how many cases are open through CPS in this area. Many ppl know the female case worker by name and that should really bother every parent around here.
Horrible, Principal Disher will blame your child for any and all bad grades. They do not issue text books, work or activity books or even send any homework home. Yet they somehow don’t understand when the Parents are not able to assist the children. They only contact you by phone if your child is late or absent, even if you check them out you will get a robot call. Once a week they send a horribly put together page of news and buried in it are important items like, your child is being transferred to a new class, or is being “tutored” in a subject for 30 minutes a week. Since Principal Disher took over, the school no longer has after school programs such as a Chess Club and Robotics, now they have something called a Community Leaders Club where the straight A students get to do different things.
Also if you bring your child in late due to say traffic, you (the parent) over sleeps, etc, if its over 30 minutes your child will be given Lunch Time Detention where they will be punished for your bringing them to school late (this includes Pre-K and up).
Do yourself a favor and live either in Copperas Cove or Harker Heights, there Public School System is miles ahead of this atrocity. The only redeeming feature they have is one teacher, 2nd Grade, Ms. Seacreast, that is honestly the only thing nice I can say about the school.

Good Luck, you will need it if your child enrolls here.

Terrible school administration. Most of the teachers are great. The Principal and both vice principals are awful. They make their own campus policies that are not in line with the district and refuse to change or adjust them when given reasons why.

Twice I have had to argue with their school policies, the second led to me withdrawing my daughter permanently.
