It’s a great school and we couldn’t be happier: the facilities are amazing and speak for themselves, but the real difference is made by the excellent teachers.
I am particularly pleased with the “no tablet” policy in primary school: the children learn how to use books and exercise books rather than spending hours on screens, although they do have proper computer lessons, in the dedicated room, with school devices.
Kindness and good manners are encouraged and a strong anti-bullying policy is in place.
Very diverse ECAs, including several sports, are offered as included in the fees.
No need for lunchboxes, as good quality food is provided.

We recently moved to Dubai and, after researching a number of schools for our son, we decided to visit Durham, which was our number one choice. We toured the school and absolutely loved what they had to offer, so much so that we actually canceled the other school tours we had arranged. Our son has now started school and has settled in well. The staff and children have been so welcoming, and he loves going to school. As a parent, knowing your child is happy is a very high priority, and the level of learning and the core values of the school and its ethos make Durham the perfect choice.
Fabulous school. Our son entered Year 5 in Durham after completing two years of online schooling because of the pandemic. Returning to a physical school would have been very challenging for him if not for the warm welcome, kindness, and support he received from the teachers; we are very grateful for that. He’s progressing well academically, too. We appreciate the traditional teaching methods used by Durham, e.g., the focus on handwriting and no tablets or prolonged screen time except during computer studies. The school places high importance on physical education and regularly conducts different kinds of activities. It has great sports facilities. Students are assigned just the right amount of homework so that they aren’t unnecessarily burdened. The staff and teachers are kind, caring, and approachable—they make all the difference. Our son is blessed to be a part of the Durham family.
We recently enrolled two children (Year 3 and Year 5) in Durham School and can confidently say that this decision was right. The school provides a solid academic foundation and focuses on developing self-confidence in young children. The small class sizes provide more opportunities to interact with teachers and peers.
Very happy with our school. The teachers are wonderful, there is less screen time and lots of interesting activities! Our son can’t wait for vacations to be over to go back to his school.
Absolutely fabulous school! My girls love it there, and their education is flourishing. Best move we made was moving them to Durham School Dubai. Small class sizes, great teachers—cannot recommend this school enough!
