The school has changed a lot. Let’s start at the prep school, which has grown from an exciting place for young kids to grow with lots of colour and its own big playgrounds, along with a big oval, into a prestigious, more modern school. They got rid of the best place for growing young individuals (the old prep classrooms) and turned it into a big blank building like that. Now, I’m not saying there is no colour in this building; its just that. Would you prefer your young child to be in a tall, modern, overwhelming building or a fun, open space with lots of creative flow. They did, however, get rid of the old prep place, so there really is no other option if you choose to go here, but thankfully, I was a student there before the school put gates around everything and before they turned a once colourful place into a more modern big jail cell. Who would want to send their child here? Along with all these changes, there is also another big issue I have with EJ: Personally, I don’t really like this “improvement,” and that would be the tuck-shop area and the new underground place. It takes up all the space that was there and they had the audacity to paint over an art memorial that was painted by the class of 2016 (I believe). See, I don’t have a clear perspective of how the school runs these days because I was in the graduating class of 22. But from a recent visit and what I have heard, that’s what I have collected. Now over to the more positive side of the school, They did fix the old oval fences that would cut many people if you did get close and how it would shock you. The school also did repave the pavement going from the oval/hexagons to the tennis/handball court, which, from my perspective, is pretty good considering the fact that me personally would always trip on the uneven concrete, Don’t take this personally; its only my opinion.
A big headache for pickup and dropoff kids by car at this school. EJ doesn’t have its own parking bays. You can only rely on limited street parking. And even on the Bayview Terrace side, there is no drop-off and go zone. It is reserved for those buses that take kids to activities on very few occasional days, which means even if there are no buses on most days, you still can’t do a quick drop off. How unreasonable design! Along bayview Terrance, less than a 300m street, there are two schools and one daycare. Let’s imagine how hard it is to find a spot!
Went here last year- best ever except I hate how I didn’t get a lot if time in the new playground but can’t complain still one of the best schools ever 10/10. Also I had a hatred for one teacher. Won’t name names but he was my grade 5 teacher lol
Such a good school. No doubt.
The school is a historic building in the area. It provides excellent education for young children.
