Relative to CCSD, this is a good school! I feel like people need to take into account that most schools have issues like these, especially CCSD. There’s a bad teacher shortage. Last year, all medical teachers left, and our sophomore marketing teacher moved away. Beautiful campus. A lot of the students are only there because their parents made them go, though, so don’t expect a bunch of smart, motivated people. The students are pretty average high school students. Also, this is not a difficult school. Due to covid, they now get 50% minimum on any missing work, and you have till the end of the quarter to turn in any late/missing work, with full credit. Students complain a lot about the difficulty, but honestly, most of them aren’t paying attention. There are a lot of nice things about the school, like the décor, the program opportunities, but you can’t expect something perfect. It’s a good school.
Graduated in 2013. Relatively enjoyed the school but had serious problems with the old Electronics teacher. She controlled everything within that part of House 3 with absolutely 0 oversight above her. She chased off the majority of my class before we graduated and after I left to a different program that left the graduating electronics class of 2013 with only 18 students out of around 100 that started as freshman. She picked on students and singled them out and I stood up to her for 3 years. Had her disrespect me and my parents during parent teacher conferences and the staff refused to fire her knowing well what she was doing to kids. So glad to hear that program is gone now and hope that means that horrible woman finally got what she deserved.
Hope the staff at the school now have started protecting students from bad teachers.
