As a student of East Hartford High School ( CO 2016 ) I would give this school like a 4.5. The school offers a variety of classes from Learning Chinese, and Human Rights. If your child is very active with sports they will love it here. One thing about the student athletes is that theyre favored more than other students and do get special treatment like getting out of a suspension. Most of the staff are wonderful and you can tell that they like the school and their job. Just because it is a public school does not mean that all the students are bad. Sure your child might come home with some weird new slang term but at least its better than a bullet hole. The only thing that is mega lame about the school is the electronic policy, Kids will get written up for having a phone out in the hallway during passing time. Personally i’ve always thought it was ridiculous because its not like i’m cheating on a test during passing time.
As a student at this school, I feel like this school doesn’t open your classes for what you want to do or who you want to be. They only give you classes to be required to graduate high school, and you don’t have many options. Also as a student here, the kids are very nasty, so disrespectful and aren’t desired to learn, if you want to go to a good school, DO NOT come to this school. It’s like a prison.
