PRIMARY REVIEW

If you would like your child to be constantly approached, threatened and shouted at by other parents whilst the school do absolutely nothing about it, then send them here! Used to be a great school 5/6 years ago, but has gone significantly downhill over the last 2 years. Your children will not be safeguarded at this school and they will look to palm you off with pathetic solutions to your issues. Please avoid this school at all costs.

Imagine going to a school having everyone bullying u and teachers don’t do nothing about it til u get so upset that ur no longer in school jokes. Dont let ur child go to this school. All the chavs go there and put a bad influence on innocent kids. Seriously, I’m helping u
This school is an amazing school but to be honest science department cant teach. Like seriously come on it past 3 or 4 months and we didn’t even cover one topic. However, the math teachers are awesome not all of them but some of them and also the English teachers are good too. But Science department really need improvement.(and believe me the students, staff are nice, some might be not but a-lot of them are.)
Honestly, if I could give 0 stars I would. If you’re considering going to sixth form here, I would think again. Already the school is horrible at secondary, but it gets worse at sixth form. The sixth form staff, especially the woman, who I will not state her name, but if you go here you’ll know exactly who I’m talking about, is a pain, and if you try to go to her with any problems, she will dismiss them and turn it onto you.

This sixth form is an actual prison. If you are late once a week, even by a second, you will receive a lengthy detention after school. They do not care if there were issues with travelling or any personal reasons. Not attending form in the morning results in another detention. Alongside this, if your attendance drops below 90%, they treat it like you’ve committed a crime. They don’t let you leave the school during break, and have staff monitoring the gates with a list of people’s pictures. Don’t even try to discuss mental health issues with them, despite them emphasising the importance of prioritising your health and speaking to them, it is all a cover. They do not care. If you’re breaking their ‘rules’, it doesn’t matter about mental health, you will still have to face the consequences.

The teaching is also so so poor. Even if you bring up the poor teaching to the sixth form staff, they will put you at fault. If you want to be teaching yourself for two years, by all means, go here. For example, for economics, a geography based teacher teaches economics. This is because their original economics teacher left the school around 2/3 years ago, and they have not found a replacement, in which this replacement teacher had to attend a course for economics to be qualified himself. Even though, he is a really nice teacher, and it is definitely not his fault, the sixth form staff have not done anything about this for 2 years, despite years above (previous year 13s) submitting complaints. Aside from this, most teachers do not know how to teach and you end up having to teach yourself.

Not to mention, they take months to just reply to your emails.

Prioritise your health and DO NOT go here.

There are many other schools in the borough that are 10x better.

The worst school in the borough, bullying is rife from the very start of year 7! Teachers do nothing at all to remedy or mediate bullying! They are so wrapped up with GDPR they won’t throughly investigate bullying, facilitate parents meeting to help with resolving issues! Instead encourage parents to go on the hunt to try and find a way to get hold of parents of bully’s who are old enough to walk to school independently! The school, head and teachers are ill equipt to provide remote learning options or even school work for bullied children because they have a can’t do attitude! Heaven forbid they might add a laptop in class so a child can join via Teams or Skype or set homework and studies each week so a child already feeling left out isn’t missing out on vital studies.

There is zero accountability and responsibility let alone duty of care! Instead children are expected to come in and endure bullying day in day out and when kept at home for their safety the parents are accused of taking unauthorised absence from school! Just because a child is able to come into school does not mean they should when they are being bullied so terribly they have mental health issues! Whoever trained these teachers truly failed the local community! The incompetence and total disregard for a child’s well-being is remarkable! Threatening parents to force bullied children into school instead of doing something about the bullies and their parents seems to be their only approach! Pathetic and incompetent to say the least! Not only is the borough poor so are the teachers educating our future generations!
