I was there today to sign my son up to school at ECEAP and one of the teachers took it upon herself to raise her voice at my child that wasn’t part of her class instead of walking up to me and asking me politely to leave with my children since they couldn’t watch their own kids and mine were a distraction. Then still not addressing me she goes to the office to let us know to leave since my kids were a distraction. Beforehand I had let the office lady know I would be filling out the paperwork and could have warned me about it. My kids had been playing with the children for 10min before the encounter with the teacher, she had that amount of time to come to me and ask me politely to get out she didn’t. This was my experience maybe not everyone has this but I was warned about this school which I’m glad I had the first hand encounter will not be bringing my boy here. I probably should have walked away when I saw many kids but since I didn’t see anything wrong with it and nobody let me know it ok to be there during that time I thought it was ok what I didn’t like is her going to my child instead of coming to me the parent she saw a problem since the beginning she had the right to tell me to leave and not scold my son just because she is a teacher of that school that is why I was there. She knew she had not done the right thing so she went to the office and let them know to tell me to leave
This is the second year my daughter has attended ECEAP. Our experience both years has been wonderful. The teachers and home visitors have been amazing in supporting us and sharing resources. They can help prepare your child for elementary school by giving them not only academic skills but social and emotional skills. The application process is a little long so make sure you give yourself time to gather all the documentation. I highly recommend you enroll your child if you can.
