After 3 years in a traditional PK program in Lafayette, we made the decision to enroll our daughter into EB. We aren’t French speakers but we wanted to give our daughter the gift of a second language. We loved the idea of our daughter being in a multi-cultural, multi-lingual environment as one way of expanding her worldview. We’ve only been in the school for a year but our family couldn’t be happier. It’s a huge commitment for us not just financially but from a geography standpoint as we live in Walnut Creek. However, to see our daughter embracing a second language with so much confidence makes it all worth it. One of our concerns was that our daughter might feel self-conscious trying to speak a new language and not be the creative, outgoing person that she is. But, the teachers take great care in creating an environment that is fun, nurturing and fosters a love of learning so each child feels safe to pick-up the language at their own pace. It’s been a wonderful experience for our family and we can’t say enough good things.
After attending the Middle School’s TedxYouth session last night, I just have to come on and rave about EB, its wonderful students and its special community. It was really quite incredible to see – these kids were so self-possessed, bright and vulnerable sharing brilliant and for some very personal ideas. It was all a beautiful reflection on how EB’s academics, emotional support and care helps to prepare the kids for their futures. I understand that EB is one of only a few schools to host Tedx and it’s definitely one of the highlights of the middle school. I’m saying all this and and I didn’t have any of my kids in it last night!

I have one graduate, one in G8 and one in G6 and we’ve been at EB since they were in preschool. We couldn’t be happier with their educational journey – it’s been very special. What’s more we see the school as just getting stronger; so much so that I’m a little jealous for my eldest as I see my youngest’s experience and offerings are even better than his were.
