Here is my honest review of this school. EPHS offers a decent amount of activities, athletics, and good teachers. Food is average school lunch – subpar at best. However, most importantly, the school community is very toxic and cliquey. By cliquey, I mean that Somalis hang with Somalis, Asians hang with Asians, Indians hang with Indians, and so on. Drama kids hang with Drama kids, “Wall Kids” (the popular kids) will hang with “Wall kids”. I believe that the very existence of this culture is the antithesis of what our principal touts: that EPHS is diverse. It is diverse by statistics but not in practice. As someone who has multiple interests and is part of multiple activities and doesn’t fit in just one group, I feel like I don’t fit in anywhere. From my perspective, this school is not ideal for me.
Horrible service. They told me to get there at 7am and I waited not one hour, not two hours, not three hours, no that’s not enough. No, I waited 6 HOURS for my food. By this time I’ve missed my morning workout and most of the rest of my daily routine. Anyways, food was surprisingly not bad at all but they took an hour and a half after that to get me the bill. I went home relieved to never go to that restaurant again. Then I received a note in the mail, apparently I am legally required to go there every day for four years?! Talk about scams….
The one redeeming aspect of this establishment is that they had a whole lineup of speakers talking about some really interesting stuff while I was waiting for my food. I think I probably learned more there than I ever did in school.
I have two daughter’s who will be starting EP High School in the next two years. They already spend alot of time there with sports. The high school is wonderful. The athletic facilities are second to none. They offer every different sport. If you have children and are thinking of EP, just take a tour. You will undoubtedly be impressed. It’s no wonder Eden-Prairie is always rated #1 in the state for families to live, and always makes the top 5 cities to live in the country. We moved from NJ and couldn’t be happier.
