Finally, after 50 years, I have information that confirms what an old woman told me when I was 7 (1966). Me and the other kids used to yell?,”Hey witchy witchy are you coming out tonight?(I still feel bad for that behavior now). Anyway, she finally yelled at me nicely to come talk to her. It was an experience of a lifetime. She knew all the kids’ names and who drove in and out of the parking lot. This was a multi level was a wall with 3 tiers and separated old folks from other families. She told me she was 91 years old (but in retrospect?, I think that she was a lot younger, than she said was). She told me that the original school was bordered by Sumner, Willis, and Bakersfield and she she had gone to Edward Evvert School. She told me that I was sitting on the only thing left from the school besides the huge tree (which she said she could remember the tree in its early years). I was fascinated. I wish I could remember what her name was; maybe she never told me. Then suddenly she was gone. I never saw her again. It was 1969, if I remember correctly. Now I finally have the photos to prove she was right. She also told me that Rose Fitzgerald had attended that same school. Thanks to everyone who worked on this site. You go, guys!
The worst school ever. The first day of school I took my 1st grade daughter to this school and i met the teacher. She didn’t care anything about us or my daugther. She kept ignoring me when i tried to say something. And thanks god i dont have to send my daughter back to that school no more.
