El Camino Real High School has an number of things going for it. Wrestling as an inter-schollastic sport is one of them. Although some of the students who don’t like following rules may disagree, this program under Coach T. Fischer has excelled for decades in helping to build the lives of the young men on the team. Anyone interested in competing for championships; improving as a person; developing character that will stay with one for the rest of their lives, need look no further. Other of the schools build their team through recruiting kids who can provide ready-made points in the finals. Instead, El Camino has focused on the kids who have gone their for four years and learned to compete both individually and as a team. Anyone joining the team who sticks with it for four years will never regret the experience down the road. Still, the Coach will allow anyone to come in to compete for a spot, even if they just moved into the area. Overall, this is the best wrestling program in the Los Angeles City School system and as good as any private school system around.
It is a really awesome school and your time will be well spent, however there are some flaws. First off, you dont have the choice to choose the teachers you want and can get stuck with some really bad teachers that can ruin your grade. They dont give proper half days, its every other Tuesday and its from 8am-1:45pm. Finally the security is way to strict. I have seen some really poor instances where if you dont have the passes they will mark you and tell you to get a slip. Also the wi-fi and phone service is the worst here. If you try to call someone or they are trying to call you. There is a slim chance you wont receive their call.
grad in 1977 open campus back then back in thoes days everyhing was more pleasant students wanted to learn than they today..wonderfull memories . teachers where great..thanks .wonderfull chemstry..
