My 11 year old started his journey with Master Hugo in January 2022. From the first visit, he was hooked! He had fun while being challenged at his own pace and level. Master Hugo has helped him build his confidence and assertiveness. He truly is not only a gifted teacher but also a mentor. He perfectly balances respect, nurturing, fun and friendship for the kids. It is impressive to see how the kids engage and work hard each class all while smiling. I can honestly say that what my son learns in class has seamlessly spilled over to his daily values and discipline. This class will help any child in the physical aspect but more importantly, internally as well.
May Master Hugo continue having the health and strength to continue helping the community many years ahead!
Hwangs taekwondo in Wallingford is one of the best centers I have ever been to. I have been doing martial arts myself since I was 5 and have passed it onto my three sons. My oldest started with Hwangs when he was five years old and has now just turned 9 and achieved his black belt. Master Hugo brings fun energy and a lot of patience when teaching all my sons from ages 3 to 9. Every class is different and he has a key focus on fitness and focus. My three boys love going to master Hugo and are always excited for the new ideas he brings. So much so that my oldest goes there 6 days a week and even volunteers for other classes!
My son did karate for some time before the pandemic hit and then we stopped. When this got back to normal he was focused on other sports but a part of him wanted to pick up where he left off. I am happy to see him flourishing under Master Hugo’s careful direction and patience. I appreciate his growth in the little time he has been going and can’t wait to see where else it take him. I love it, highly recommend.
