I came for balayage and requested to be with a senior who had ample blonding experience.

The “highlights” were completely botched. I’m not exaggerating when I say that it looked like a 12 year old bleached my hair, and I ended up with severe breakage on the areas where bleach was applied.

The other thing that really upset me was how the student ratted up my hair at the washing bowl and then proceeded to (try) to roughly rake out the knots before I stopped her. I have very long hair, and I take extreme care to prevent breakage, especially after processing. How this not lesson number one in cosmetology school is beyond me.

Needless to say, I regret taking a chance at a school to save money on my hair service. I’ve given one star for the fact that the school did work with me to compensate my bad experience.

I’m writing this review under an alias because I’m frankly embarrassed that I came to this establishment in the first place, and I do not wish to have further contact. The school was already made aware of the situation.

After seeing my hair, they said they were shocked because it was done by one of their “best students.” TERRIFYING.

Some of the instructors are incredibly rude, it’s really hit or miss with customer service. There are a couple that have no integrity towards the customer, they will go ahead and do what they want. When you advocate for what YOU want, they get snippy with you. They can’t even answer simple questions, they will just argue with you instead of logically explaining things. Some of the students are rude too or just really quiet. When making small talk, they look at you with a ”why are you talking to me..“ type of vibe.. some of them act like they don’t even want to be there. this makes it a really uncomfortable experience. Nothing to do with the quality of hair, more to do with their social skills and etiquette. If they want clients someday at a salon, they will definitely have to learn these skills. anyway, super disappointed this time around and will not be coming back.
