Elm St. is an AMAZING school to me, despite what everyone else says, it’s the best school in my opinion, people have their own opinions, I’m fine with that, but to me, the school is way better than JUST it’s food, they have Family Comsumer Science classes, aka, Home Ec., they have art, chorus and band, they have a lot, they even have TONS of sorts for all year long, including ski club! Speaking of which, they have all sorts of clubs, they have photography club, drama, etc. The teachers are very nice, but they can be a little, “strict”, sometimes, but 1. They can’t hold our hands forever, meaning, they kind of HAVE to be hard on us sometimes, if their not, then we’ll think that everyone’s like that, and that NOTHING in our lives will go wrong, but everyone knows that’s NOT true, plus, their really only hard on you if you don’t turn in work, or don’t behave, or your just, disrespectful, 2. I have made LOTS more friends there, even if their on different teams. Sure, I might not want to get up every day to go to school, but, when I get there, I actually have fun, especially in chorus and F.C.S., Miss. Oliver, the chorus teacher, is amazing, fun, and outgoing, she’s just an incredible woman, I’m not choosing favs or anything, but I can’t write about all the teachers, they are all kind, smart, amazing, and wonderful people, to me, the school, and all the staff, are AMAZING!! Sometimes I don’t want to go home, but just for a minute or two! This school is the best in my eyes, and for that, I would like the thank EVERYBODY that works there, even the teachers on other teams, because, they might not get paid a lot, but in order for people to become lawyers and have other important jobs like that, they teach us! I’m talking about every single teacher in the world! They also teach us how to deal with other things that we’ll need to know when we’re older, and of course, the essentials in life, reading, writing, math, social studies, and science. Once again, I know this is just MY opinion, and I understand that not everyone agrees with me, but I just wanted to let everyone know what it’s actually like, yeah the school is huge, and you can sometimes get confused on the first couple of days, but that’s another reason why the staff are there, they help you get to where you need to be, plus they have lockers, they do come in handy, but, even though it might be a huge school, everyone is kind and amazing, and you’ll get used to it where everything is.
I’m going to be honest. i had a review up and they gave me in school suspension for it. Theres the first thing. Second, (this goes for the entire district) 90% of sites are blocked so research during class is a pain in the ass. The kids are dangerous and there have been MULTIPLE incidents with a kid using a knife in my 3 years here. The building bridges program for kids with ASD does NOTHING to help their students. I have autism spectrum disorder and I haven’t learned executive functioning at all at this place. The only good thing about this school is the food. The tolerance for behaviors such as saying the word “dammit” is completley insane. teachers say damn all the time and if a student says that the teachers and principals go ballistic. They treat kids like criminals. I made a few mistakes and now the teachers don’t move on and I am treated as a psycho. You get no respect from the teachers at all. so read my review and trust me. this place is hell on earth. EVEN MY PARENTS AGREE.
