This school is like poison running down a stream and the student are the fish. The Poison ( Principal, Standerfer- comparable to Hitler or Mussolini in the fact that she runs the school as a concentration camp rather than a place to learn and have fun doing so). Then you have the guidance councilors whose jobs are to HELP the students figure out what they want to do AFTER school! They are suppose to SHOW YOU OPTIONS not just 4 yr colleges or military but how about trade schools, getting a Entry Level job and maybe traveling, or how to start an entrepreneurship. I was a student there once upon a time and I am STILL HAUNTED at the fact that I went to seek help from the witch SUSAN KARASEK about what I should be doing now to focus my studies so I could become a Dental Hygienist. It had been my dream since I was 7 to be in the dental profession and I have ALWAYS struggled with math but had a “C” average in it. SUSAN looked at my math grades and said “You need to come to reality! You are just to stupid to get in any field like this when you don’t understand math!”….. Killed a fish that day! Then you have the majority of the teachers a handful truly do care and TRY but 3/4 just BABYSIT (watch a movie, give answers to quizzes) SO I felt like it was a waist of time! If you weren’t ranked Top 25% the SCHOOL GIVES UP ON YOU!!

SUSAN KARASEK IS A MONSTER!

How can they become a 2 star school…. HAVE COMPASSION! HAVE OPTIONS!!! STOP KILLING THE FISH!!

I am currently a student at Estrella Foothills. The school is definitely below standards in every way. The math teachers have no idea what they are doing. The counselors know less about the school and what is the best plan for you than pretty much everyone. The school always says they are an A+ school of excellence although that award was from ages ago. The College Career Prep program that you are forced into as a freshman is totally useless and a waste of a semester. The only way out of it is if your parent is a teacher. The school district plays favorites and if you have money they will help you otherwise they could care less about you. Overall a terrible school that needs work.
Estrella Foothills High School was an absolute blessing. I could not have asked for a better High School to have attended. The teachers and faculty are always there to help, the opportunities for success are abundant, the clubs on campus are welcoming and successful, the academics are challenging, the athletic teams are always competitive, the student spirit bleeds blue and black, and most importantly, the student life consisted of a family-like atmosphere. As long as you (a student) are willing to try and step outside of your comfort zone and get involved in extra-curricular activities, you will succeed tremendously in High School, and your life after!
