This charter school is not good at all. I don’t usually give reviews or voice my opinions about schools but this school is that bad. I don’t know where to start, but I will say to the parents out there take your time and look for a decent school for your child or children rather it be public or charter. Please don’t just settle for convenience, etc. The teachers at excel are so petty. They complain about everything that your child does that is not to there liking. I felt like my child was in prison. I must say that my child doesn’t have a behavior problem at all, but it’s just that, that is how they are there. The teaching is awful and there is a high turnover with teachers as well, so that should tell you something right there. Year after year they score bad on the state tests and you can never get information on that if you ask someone in the office. All they say is that the test results hasn’t been posted. Not true they are just embarrassed to tell you there test scores because they are not good. So happy I finally pulled my child out of there and she is so happy where she is at now. It was like a load lifted off of me. The principal is nice and passionate but that is the only good thing about it there. STAY AWAY!!!!!
Wow!!! I have had 2 children in this school. The structure did not work for my son, but my daughter continues to EXCEL!!. I suggest that parents enroll their child in the schools and see if it’s something that works for your child. It might. It might not. I am very happy with the school and what they offer. No they are not perfect but what school is? If you are coming from a public school, you will be in for a rude awakening because they do call all the time when your child misbehaves or does not follow rules (as they did for my son). My daughter has been in this school since kindergarten. She is now in 5th grade. I have probably received a total of 5 calls for her. This school is not for everyone but for those who are ready for common core based teaching in a true learning environment, it is an EXCELlent school.
