My child’s classroom was equipped with all the amenities a child needed to produce a conducive learning environment with the exception of 1 thing – A Passionate, Involved Teacher with the Drive to Push ALL Children to Excellence. My Child’s teacher’s name was Christina Ross. Out of all the classes in the school, her class was the biggest, with the most interactive centers, and unfortunately with the lowest amount of African American Students in the entire school. Her initial percentage rate was lower than 10% – Mrs. Ross approached me within 2 weeks of school starting suggesting I’d place my newly turned 4 yr old on a Behavioral IEP* Mrs. Ross did not take the time to find out that my child could read, write, spell, add, subtract, and etc.. When I dismissed the notion and requested she provide him with enhanced classwork to keep him interested – she quoted to me: ‘If you press a child too hard, they will regress’ – and that was the end of that conversation. She continually penalized my child harshly for single incidents over a duration of days (in-house suspension from favorite play centers) and she actually lied about our interactions and classroom transactions to the principal. HORRIBLE I would NEVER, EVER allow Christina Ross to each ANY CHILD of my own, family, friend, or associate (ESPECIALLY, if the Child is of a Minority Status). -My child eventually Switched to Mrs. Hill’s class – and he actually LEARNED LESSONS for the last 6 weeks of school. Be WARNED, Do Not allow Your Minority Children in the classroom with this Lady*
