I love First School Cathedral City location! I assume they are equally as wonderful, but two of my three daughters have and are attending the Cat City location. My oldest, turning 6 started when she was 3 and graduated at age 5. She is now almost done with Kindergarten and starting 1st grade. I proudly have to say that she is in the top of her Kinder class and its majority thanks to First School. She went into Kinder with a vast knowledge in all of the things you learn in Kinder. She’s reading like a champ and writing full sentences! I couldn’t be more happy and proud of all the stuff she learned in her 2 years there, they prepared her well for school and its clearly proven. Miss Samantha and Miss Candy are flat out amazing. Whether at the front desk or in a classroom, they are the shining stars of the school.

My almost 3 year old, (turning 3 on Sunday!) started at 2. In a year she’s grown into a new kid! She’s talking and having full conversations, she’s learning how to write her name, and she’s potty trained! Miss Linda is wonderful, and treats the kids like they are her own. She is so sweet and she knows how to get the kids to listen without negativity. She’s very attentive with each kid individually even though she’s got a classroom full of rambunctious little ones. I’m proud and blessed to know there are still people like her in the world that care so much!

First School in Cathedral City is a great school. It’s not a big old building with kids running around and teachers screaming for kids to hush up. It’s a small school, but I think the smaller the better, that way you know the kids are getting the attention they need. The classrooms are never over flowing with kids, the teachers are all wonderful, and the school makes sure to involve the families in anything they can. Graduation is a spectacular event! All the kids perform, not just the graduating kids. The Christmas program is special. All the kids work so hard to learn the songs and dances and that shows you how much these teachers put into working with the kids. They have a dance teacher, and they even have a mobile gymnastics program, which my girls highly enjoyed!

I’m impatiently waiting for the day my youngest, almost 2, gets to start! She’s going to do so well there and I’m so excited that all three of my girls are going to get an amazing jump start on their educations, and I know just because of First School they will all be in love with school! Thank you First School and the entire staff for making not only my life easier, but my girls life full of love and education!

Absolutely the best preschool in the entire valley! As a working mom it’s stressful to entrust anyone to take care of your child. When looking for childcare options in the valley I wasn’t impressed with any, that is until I found First School of the Desert. The school is clean, friendly, and inviting. The front staff answered all my concerns and provided a tour. The children and teachers in the classes were happy, singing songs, and reading. They also have an open door policy which means you can visit anytime. (Although, I would suggest in the morning hours before lunch, the kids are involved in circle time/learning activities.)

What really impressed me even before my first visit, was that the owners Mark and Dorothy answer your call. Over three decades in the valley and the owners make time for every parent (current & potential). This shows that it is not just a school or business, but rather an experienced parent answering the call of new parent, providing comfort & support as you start your child’s educational journey. This is family. I dare you to find any other childcare in the valley with that kind of service! First School has become part of my family. The teachers welcome my son and me ever morning. The communication is fabulous, a note every day keeps me updated on his day. If there is a playground injury, the front office staff call me right away. The staff help get my son potty trained and celebrated with us as we said goodbye to diapers! The family fun nights and holiday celebrations help to bring together a new social network of parents, we have made almost as many friends as my son! I am so blessed to have found First School. I will be sad when my little guy graduates this school year, luckily his sister turns two next November!
