I give Flower Mound Early Care and Education two stars. The only reason this gets two stars is for the amazing children and the bonds you build with them. If you want to bring your children here I would look elsewhere. Management doesn’t care what your kids truly
need. This is a daycare that only cares about money. I was a teacher for the 2 year olds and I was in a room with a lot of kids who had very different needs. I was one person in a room where I expressed countless times the amount of assistance I needed to be able to give each child the ability to grow and learn in a safe environment. I exhausted every resource and used every tool known to me to maintain a safe environment. I am someone who loves children, and to say I didn’t love each one of my kids is an understatement. They are the only reason I stayed so long. I am one person who couldn’t do it all, and I didn’t leave because of my kids, I left because of management.

The problem with childcare facilities and what parents should really look for is drastically different than what’s legal. Legally in a room full of kids 24 months I can have 11 children. BUT what are all of the kid’s needs? Do some need guidance in behavior? Do some need guidance in daily basic needs? If your teacher is overwhelmed and can’t handle the ratio in a way that makes teaching conscious discipline and other basic skills easily, then it affects the children.

Parents I have worked in a daycare for most of my early adult life and I have learned a lot of what I am going to look for in a child care facility. This facility teaches conscious discipline and I love that. But ask to speak with your child’s teacher privately. Ask them for honesty. What is their goal for their classroom? What is their ratio, not the legal ratio, their ratio? Things to look for are how the room looks and sounds when you walk in on your tour. If toys are thrown everywhere, and it looks like the kids have never seen the room they’ve been in for months, that’s a red flag. If the teacher looks like they are forcing a smile you know to run the other way.

We had recently moved to the area and we were looking for a curriculum base daycare. We had enrolled our kids in a Montessori school, and the experience there was horrible. However, after researching the schools in the area we found Flower Mound Early Care & Education. We did the tour and something about the tour sat well with us. There was artwork everywhere in the room, Melanie gave us our undivided attention and the feel for the school was great.

We enrolled the kids and started the following week. Our kids could not be happier. They are greeted every morning and they are excited to go to school. They come home with special projects. The school does an amazing job keeping the parents informed and involved. They are definitely creating a good base for our kids to transition smoothly into Elementary school.

The teachers are wonderful. We have one in Pre-School and the teachers in that class, I cannot say enough about. They answer all our questions and give us updates on how our daughter is doing in that class. We had our son in Pre-K A and he is now in Pre-K B. The teachers in both of those classes are amazing. Our son had a hard time transitioning into Pre-K and Ms. Kamisha did an amazing job working with him. When he transitioned into Pre-K B it went a lot better.

I would highly recommend this school to anyone. The class sizes are large, but the kids are always well entertained and active and involved.
