I would like to let prospective students know a little about my experience with Flyboys Flight Center. I came to Terry Anderson as a “rusty pilot” after having been inactive for some fifteen years. All of my previous experience had been in Cessna aircraft, but I was willing to give the Pipers a shot. Not only did Terry help knock the rust off, he gave me the confidence to get back in the air on a regular basis. After some familiarization in the Piper Archer, I completed the FAA required flight review and began to solo on a regular basis. After a few months of visiting many of the airports in the area, I decided I was ready for a new challenge. I asked Terry to help me obtain the Instrument Airplane rating. We have been working on that for a few months and I have passed the knowledge test. Soon I will be ready for the practical exam. (Edit: I have since passed the instrument check ride on the first attempt. Thanks, Terry.)
I especially like Terry’s laid back approach to training. He is thorough and knowledgeable. He has a wealth of experience in all types of general aviation flying, and it shows in his teaching. Along with Terry, Sarah Anderson is licensed to give ground school instruction and they provide an in-depth look into what the knowledge requirements are for passing the FAA tests. I would recommend Terry, Sarah, and Flyboys Flight Centers to anyone who aspires to become a pilot.
Overall company is great, but the test instructor (the older man who flies with you when you take your test) rips people off. My fiancé paid $1,600 to take his flying test after he passed his written test, the instructor asked 1 question, which my fiancé answered and the instructor didnt like the answer so then said were not flying. The man then proceeded to take his $1,600 and walked inside. My fiancé at the time was 18 years old, he is now 22. This devastated my fiancé and since then he hasnt stayed in flying school and has lost his drive for getting his pilot license. He is so smart and deserves better than what that older man did.
