This was my daughter’s first year in a public school. The first two quarters were just fine. During the third quarter my daughter was being bullied by students in her 3rd grade class. I emailed her teacher about the bullying and NOTHING was done. Come to the week before Christmas break I had a meeting with her teacher and it seemed like the issue was resolved; little did I know I was wrong. My daughter was failing math tutoring was scarce, her teacher yelled at her during the tutoring sessions, my daughter would come home crying saying that her hands hurt because, her teacher would hit her with pencils. It got to the point that my daughter didn’t want to go to school at all.
I withdrew my daughter out of school 3 weeks ago and not even a “Why is your daughter leaving the school?” This school is a joke and I feel sorry for anyone who registers their child here. For a school who says they are going by a lottery system as far as accepting students go they sure are taking everyone who walks through the office door. Very disappointed in this school and the staff. To be quite honest, I don’t believe that my daughter’s teacher was certified. She has no business being in a class room around children.
I have three children here, we’ve been here one semester and I plan to move the kids to another school after this. Stephanie in the office is amazing. The rest of the girls are rude and don’t have time to deal with parents. Was treated very poorly in the office trying to update kid’s file. Like I was bothering them. My kid’s teacher quit and we were not informed, finally after a month I asked what was going on, received no notice or who’s class my child was even placed in. My first grader and 5th grader say their teacher is mean. Ive heard several teachers swear and say “damn kids” in front of parents and students. I’ve watched teachers yell aggressively at students waiting to get picked up. My 3rd grader has been bullied we reported it and nothing happened. This school is behind we came from a private school. My 5th grader is doing the same work she did in 3rd grade. Gift classes are a joke and not used properly or given to students who qualify. The once called me at 215pm and told me to pick up my sick child. Got there at 240 and they refused to let me have her saying pick up cut off is at 230, so why even call me? Would not recommend you’re child here unless you can’t go anywhere else.
Bad. Just bad. It’s sad. Nobody likes this school anymore, and the upper school has had at least 20 teachers leave and more have had the classes they teach switched, so you will sometimes not even have the same teacher you started with. It’s not even trying anymore I feel like. It’s sad.
