I give Asbury 3 stars because of teachers like Mrs. Phillips and others that put their ‘All’ into Educating our children regardless race, religion or social economic background. There is next to no school spirit. The overall feeling when Im there is disinterest. The P.E. room could be much bigger, the breeze way needs to be enclosed for weather and safety reasons. Discipline practices need to be revised and enforced. What struck me as odd is that they don’t allow parents to walk their children to their classrooms. Or at least they told me that I could not. This is an early start school, morning bell is at 7:15!! This is more of a District wide issue but I completely disagree with an Elementary school beginning this early. Hampton City School District needs to allocate Federal Funds better.
My kids love Francis Asbury, the staff genuinely cares for their students and strive for the kids to do their best regardless of what level they are Academically!
