My brother and I went here years ago. We wouldve had a better time if they did more about BULLYING when we were enrolled there, but when you dont have money or connections, youre just an easy target. Im not the brightest glow stick in the pack, but I know when Im being bullied. I was sent to the office for a salacious note found in my desk and when I turned it in, everyone thought it was me. Did whoever was in charge understand that it wasnt me and that I was constantly made to look foolish and disrespected? I was a respectful little girl who was let down by these educators. They sat down with my mother and father feeding them a tale of shes not gonna amount to anything, she needs to apply herself, alright, well I applied myself to go to high school, I applied myself to go to college, and I APPLIED MYSELF to leave town and forget about constantly being told I couldnt do anything at 13. Im 24, and Im happy. Thanks for letting me prove you all wrong. ??
HELPFUL HINT: maybe listen to your students if theyre being bullied whether they donated to the school or not. My father, god rest his soul, and my hardworking selfless mother who wanted a good education for her children wouldnt stand for it. I dont want any teachers in my inbox trying to shame me, I said what I said and I meant it.
Enrolled 1998-2008
I would like to address comments made by user Past Franklin Parent. I am saddened to hear of your negative experience at FFAC. To clarify, entrance into the school rock bands are determined by audition. Arts teachers, outside musicians and myself adjudicate the students using an audition rubric that is given to the students before the audition so they know how they will be evaluated. The scores from all of the judges are averaged, and the students with the highest points are given a spot.
All students at FFAC have access to music and are taught to play guitar in 5th grade. Rock band is an after-school program.
I encourage any FFAC parents or students with questions or concerns to reach out directly to me. I am always happy to meet with parents.
My daughter is the happiest I’ve seen here ever…. especially since my traveling saw her in 4 different schools within 2 years….. the teachers and staff are phenomenal. And don’t think I’ve seen parent participation or support in any school like I see here at Franklin. It’s hard to believe this is a public school…. This school is truly worth the 2 bus and 2 train commute..It was a true blessing that her number was a lucky one in that lottery….
