This school is profoundly dreadful. I went to this school from seventh grade up until graduation. I can’t stress enough to not let your child attend there. The officials are terrible. I do not understand how the principal has not been replaced. Being at this school was awful, they not only have inactive staff it was only Rojas who is by far the only staff member on campus that actually cares about the students well-being and was on task, but the rest simply do not care. I have seen numerous times the staff, that is supposedly watching the kids safety and well-being, they are on their phones or carelessly talking with other students. This is ridiculous. I notice they even play favoritism. I can honestly say only a handful of teachers actually care for the students and want them to succeed in life. And that says a lot because I have been at that school for 6 whole years. Another thing that is disgusting is they only care about attendance to look good for an award they revive for that. Not only that, they also get a reward for a 100% graduation rate. If students did not preform well in a certain quarter, they will take the kids and send them to a continuation school, seniors, rather than actually helping the students. They, officials, need to preform better because I can honestly say that I did not enjoy that academy at all. We are basically a walking paycheck for them. Another thing too, I have witnessed people being bullied and they do nothing about it. They preach about not to bully, but oh the irony is that they do not take action to stop it. So hypocritical. Like I stated, only a handful of teachers actually care.
I attended Fremont from 9th to 10th grade back in 2012 – 2014. My overall experience was very unfair and challenging. At first, the kids were nice and helpful, but after a few months, they began ignoring me and became bullies both outside and in the classroom. I was often rejected from group projects and discussions. Fortunately, the only ones I got along well were my instructors. They were all wonderful except for my 10th grade math instructor Mr. Paul Orona who flunked me for an entire year including two sessions of summer school. Nothing but straight Fs! Add the bullying and loneliness on top of that and I became severely depressed and my self-esteem hit rock bottom. My P.E. experience was often brutal and scary. That’s where most of the bullying occurred and doing 200+ pushups wasn’t improving anyone’s behavior. After 10th grade, I switched schools and my experience changed. Overall, i really hope this school has improved since I left as i do not want any teen to go through the same experience as I did.
