I moved from a SC school and had a huge culture shock when I transferred to Garinger. I am not going to lie, Garinger was “hood” back in 2011 however, with every year it has got better. You hear the horror story about the shoot out they had at home coming a few years ago but the fun fact that the news and everyone else fail to publicize is that it was NOT students it was GROWN ADULTS degrading the schools name. Garinger has a wonderful JROTC program and out of all the CMS schools they are ranked #2 and out of all the NC schools that go through an JPA inspection Garinger is ranked #1 and they compete with your more fortunate school such as Hopewell , butler, providence, Ardrey Kell and many more. So many people have negative things to say about Garinger but it’s not all negative. Coming from being around d primarily Caucasian all the time I would have to say I’m glad I attended Garinger high school where there are more than 20 different countries represented from this school. Not only do you learn from the curriculum but you learn from your peers and are educated that not every Hispanic is mexican, not every Asian is Chinese , and that not every African is from liberia. So I would have to say I’m proud to be a wildcat !
Unless you went to Garinger, you won’t understand how intelligent and innovative the students and teachers are. The people who spread bad comments about Garinger have probably never even went there or tried to go.
I graduated top of my class with high regards, you can’t tell me that MY school is a “bad ass school”, that’s a lie.
