First of all, the poor reviews are from former students as far as I can tell. They appear to be making a review in jest and think that a bad review is funny. They will not understand how hurtful an uneducated online post can be until they are adults themselves, so take their posts with a grain of salt…we have sent our son since kindergarten and now hes in 2nd grade. It has been a wonderful experience. Diversity, education, staff have all been excellent. There had not been one surprise or anything we have questioned. From day 1 our son has been pushed academically and he has thrived. The teachers have been great and understanding in the time of this pandemic. Their planning and patience shows how professional this school and its staff are! The curriculum is great with great focus on all subjects needed to successfully teach our children. We couldnt be happier we chose GSA.
Gateway Science Academy Smiley Campus is the type of school all American children deserve to attend. It is a STEM school that also includes the arts. A school is generally as good as the teachers who work there and Gateway has some of the best. Our student has had wonderful teachers who not only are amazing at academics but are also gifted at teaching personal responsibility and appropriate behaviors. I give a big shout out to Ms. Whaley and Mrs. McEnany . They both exude joy and happiness every day. Our children are taught in an environment of caring, which to me is a perfect environment for learning. If you have specific questions about GSA I would make an appointment to visit. You will see happy, engaged students who are learning.
The school is an AMAZING place! We have been apart of this gator family since 2011 (2nd year it was open) with two of my older kids. LOVE IT!!!! Even when things might get rough, the parents at this school and the other two campuses come together with admin to help each other. Just like FAMILY….my youngest just started this year in KG and we definitely would leave unless forced too. Staff/Admin are amazing and really want what’s best for our kids. 100%+ BEST SCHOOL in the city for education
