Dear student I would like to start by saying do your detail research before you walk in GDA, you must go 2-3 school before you decided to start. I like this school because of location, standard and compatible with my program which was manual class A CDL.

I have 7 tips for new students

1.
make sure you get your permit before you start class, yes they will teach first week to get your permit but “CDL prep” app will do the magic.

2.
make sure you have the fund before you start! because it’s only a three week class you do not want to be interrupted in the middle.

3.
get enough rest! cut all your fun! be on time! try to behave for 3 weeks as those weeks determined your future career.

4.
LISTEN! LISTEN! to your instructors, they have great instructors that actually really want to help, all the yard employee are amazing!!I had a very good time except one name johnatan* nothing personal it just the way he teach blow my confidence but that did not stop me from seeking different instructor although some students had different view.

5.
DO NOT waste your time in the yard when you getting training, if you can not get in the truck to learn your maneuver try to study the name or watch video or identify the parts, use your time wisely as you paid your own money.

6.
Listen to all the recruiters, yes they do sound manipulating however this is the industry you sign up for, it work for someone it may not work for you, keep all their contact and check your options do not limit it by any of your peers, or by someone tell you they are not for you. No one knows you better than your self.

7.
YOU MUST WANT YOUR LICENSE BETTER THAN ANYONE IN YOUR CLASS.

Special thanks to Mr. Ernold Simmons and front deck Katherin*. I really appreciate you for everything you done for me from start to end.

Jumping into starting the journey to get my Cdl-A and career. So far Latoiya followed up with me today and was very informative and definitely helped in putting me at ease in unknown territory. Looking forward to coming in to get more questions answered.

Updated: Just finished 2nd week. Great teachers, enjoying every day. Passed permit test with ease. Passed pre trip inspection with ease. Passed maneuvers test with ease. It’s surprising all of the information that can be learned within a week.

Last Update: I graduated the school as an honor graduate. My experience overall was great. I think if you enter into anything viewing it through a negative lens then negative is what you will see… I approached it all in the positive and reaped positive results. Already in two days since graduation I have 2 job interviews sweet up for THE SAME WEEK. Specifically want to thank Tyler Cook, Felicia, Kristen Shead, Gee (Garrett,) Darrell, Braland, Kay J, Brandon, Nic and last but far from least Josh. Examiner Lanist Brinson takes his job seriously in that not just anyone can pass because this is a very dangerous job that can put others’ lives at risk.

I was equipped through all three weeks and all of the names I placed above in one way or another to use all of the tools they gave me to pass… I’ll be carrying much of it with me through my career in positive of that.

Thanks for being the hinge on the door of my life change for me and my family. I’ll be back for hazmat class HAHA. LET’S GO!

Do not attend this school or give these people your money. Ernold Simmons is the worst admissions manager I’ve ever spoke with. If you plan on using your WIOA Funds go somewhere else unless you have a spotless record and I mean SPOTLESS because they will judge just because your using WIOA FUNDS. Told me I couldn’t be accepted because of a misdemeanor not being 5 years old. His reasoning was because they need to place after you get your CDL (there rules) when WIOA tells you to have jobs lined up before you get funds. Asked me if I was going to do over the road I said no he then said “ why not don’t nobody want you at home”. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE. Told me over the phone I didn’t need anything for my appointment then I get there and now I need 7 year MVR and background check. Told me a misdemeanor only matters to them because of WIOA FUNDS but if I pay with cash I can attend classes. The bad reviews about the school are 100% no matter how old they are. As the admissions director he has the “ my way or the highway” approach so it’s play nice to get accepted. This man should be fired and removed and website should be changed because you don’t want to accept funds do to you not being able to charge interest to bill. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THESE PEOPLE UNTIL THEY GET NEW MANAGEMENT.
